  3. Clicked on Facebook?

Yes I know W10, but I don't have a clue about Facebook, so any help will be appreciated.https://www.facebook.com/pg/smartestcomputing/community/?ref=page_internal Surely someone here can help me with this! Surely there is a reason that you suggest to "Visit us on Facebook" That's what I done. LOL PS I'm thinking I got myself in a big mess and I don't know how to escape, so help me anyway you can!
  4. Clicked on Facebook?

Hi! Thought I would try some thing different this morning. I clicked on Facebook as suggested. I have no clue how to use Facebook. That's my wife's thing. Well any way I used her account and tried to leave a message. Can someone here tell me how to use Facebook and how does this tie in with the forum. I really don't have a clue. It looked like a couple of people posted there. One person said they loved @Broni Well I do also, so I replied. I would really appreciate any help I can get. I'm very serious about this.
  5. I was avionics crew chief on ch-53's on west pacs. Been to subic bay and have eaten baluts. Chasing them down with San Miguel beer. The world has changed since then. My dad, sis, sons, were all air force vets. I was the only jarhead. My mom loved my looks after I came out of bootcamp. She would lift my shirt and brag to all her friends.
  6. Hi @rokytnji I'm USAF 1958-1962 C130 electrician Okinawa Naha airbase.
  7. Happy Thanksgiving

Went into a coma. But I am fine now. Just picking through the good stuff now.
  8. Former Marines are good guys. I should know. I am one.
  9. Did you know ?

Daaaaaaaamn. I can't even imagine the mind set of the dude that faced his fears. Talk about a nightmare. Some stand up people showed up on that ship during the most stressful time of peoples lives. I salute them.
  10. Did you know ?

    You're quite welcome!!
  11. Thanksgiving

    Good luck, Larry!
  12. Believe it or NOT

I know that. Burp. But they skated away anyways. Limitations were still a factor. So they beat out the statute of limitations which has no statute of limitations for murder. Confusing stuff. Huh. How I am feeling tonight

The Halifax Cemetery houses the remains of many unknowns. You certainly should get the 'family discount.' Thanks for sharing your family story.
  14. Looking for a small help forum!

Hi Thanks for your reply. I'm really tired of trying to defend myself. If Peggy knew about Ransomware, why did she create a thread? If you read that thread, you will see where Peggy thanked me and I replied back. I have explained why I replied to the ransomware thread more times then I care to remember. I'm not looking for any credit and I could care less about post counts. You can up your post count by simply posting a big smile on a fun thread, so where's the big deal about post count. A simple thank you works for me. Lets all jump on hodum 323 and tell him how bad a guy is is because he might have over reacted to one thread. This is getting plum sickening. Please lock this thread. How many members have asked for help on a windows issue this month? Gary!
  15. Looking for a small help forum!

Yes, we are more that a computer help forum, we are a community. The forum was designed to be of interest to all, not just computer geeks. We enjoy laughing together, sharing things of mutual interest and on occasion, we even cry together. Since you have arrived, holdum, you have complained about how we do things, we are too social, we don't give you credit for your vast knowledge and attempts to help poor struggling Peggy, who is totally innocent in this whole debate. We have heard that you have serious illness, as do other members or relatives of members. We have heard that you have shared your knowledge on many other forums and have left those forums for whatever reason. You as many before you came here because Broni helped you. Broni designed and runs this forum with help from a fairly capable staff. If you do not like how we do things here, please make constructive suggestions, instead criticizing. We will not change the forum to please you. If you do not like it here, there are many more forums out there that might better suit you. I will have no more to say on this subject as I have better things to do!
  16. Did you know ?

We have a Titanic museum in Orlando my wife went to. She jokingly asked 'do we get a family discount?' Ironically one of the tour guides, who wasn't there that day, had taken the part of my great grandfather. All of the tour guides portray one of the passengers. We never could catch up with him to find out what would make him portray a third class, pardon my crassness, nobody. Never did find out.
  17. Did you know ?

From what little I know, I don't think any actual 'remains' were found. Being that I am just about the oldest one left now, most of the lore is gone.
  18. Possible Ransomware

RogueKiller says 11 threats but none were checked for removal, it doesn't check them automatically, I would have to do each one myself, so left it alone until you see this....... 19. Did you know ?

How very interesting, Ski! We visited the Titanic museum in Halifax and saw the cemetery where many of the victim's are buried. I'm sure you would enjoy seeing that collection. It would be interesting to learn your great grandfather's history!
  20. incredible

    Steal it then.
  21. That's great. The last 2 good Samaritans' we've had here in Florida have gotten shot dead!! The place is crawling with lo-lifes...
  22. Did you know ?

This is my only claim to fame. My great grandfather died on the Titanic, the Irish is on my Ma's side obviously. He was James Kelly. If you look on the manifest, there are 2 James Kellys'. One is 19 and the other is 42. The 42 year old was my grandmothers' father. They supposedly found a pocket knife and some clothing they associate with him. He was from Dublin. There, now you know almost as much as I know...

  24. Looking for a small help forum!

I probably should keep my trap shut, but it seems you keep stirring up a moot point. First off, this is not a 'small' forum, one of those in the know will tell you just how many members partake of this forum You got me by almost 10 years. I am somewhat outspoken and will not change my ways. So there... I beleive I got here about the same way you did, Broni solved a problem for me and I followed, besides, he's Polish... You had a problem after answering Peggy's thread. I didn't follow it, but you should have looked before you leapt. You should have noticed she is an Administrator with near 4400 posts, and as such probably knows not to respond to a virus. If you are looking for 'credit' for helping someone, you are in the wrong place. There is no credit given for helping, a simple 'Thank you' is all the credit you need and will get here. Post count means little here also, I've been here just about everyday for near 8 years, and have only ~500 posts. It's not that I don't know much, I started with a Heathkit H8 (Zenith) in ~1974 or 5. Progressed thru the Commodores, thru MS-Dos 2.0 and started with Windows 2.0. Along the way, I have become well versed in Linux, Windows, and am really trying with this $%#^& Mac my late wife made me buy. There is a phenomenal amount of knowledge here available when it is asked for. Before I retired 2 years ago, I designed, built & programmed computers for NATO governments (don't ask any more), and I don't know half the stuff of some of the folks here. This is in fact a Windows, Mac, Linux or any other OS you can come up with help forum. No one leaves here with an unsolved problem! You seem like a nice guy, well versed and all, but wait for the opportunity to show your stuff instead of beefing about 'this is not a help forum'. There, my .02. Join the crowd, you are more than welcome... Ski (tolja I was outspoken)
  25. Dang cows.

The view is better at that height...
