Hi, Am installing 2000 on a machine for a friend, it loads to hard drive but when its gets to startup window it stops in it's tracks, the blue bar makes it to the last square and no further. This computer runs fine, I've had XP on it but he now wants 2000, This is my first time with 2000 so I need help.

I got it, I have a PCI video card installed, when I set Bios for the onboard video it booted right up. Guess it needs the PCI cards drivers before it will boot.

Win2000 should still boot up with generic 16-color and 640x480 resolution which will allow installing the drivers. Apparently it's picking up the on-board video adapter. The BIOS should have picked the PCI card if it is set to PCI first, usually only other choice is AGP.
