a word of caution about running these live cd's. there is the potential to mess up your windows installation so be sure and read all of the info about running these first. for example; when i run puppy linux live cd it writes data to my protected windows recovery partition. mostly it's ok but something could happen so be careful. me? i'm a moron i'll stick any round, shiny cd in my cd drive, loooool.

so what am i running tonight? how about VectorLinux 5.1.2 SOHO. this is a good one but it's not without problems. i can't seem to run slackware based versions on this machine. the others i've tried have crashed or froze up. this one did also but i took the cd out and wiped it on my shirt now it runs fine. i also had a problem getting the internet configured. i think the developers reckon it's a bug and are working it. i managed to get it connected. there's not many games or media apps here but lots of editors. this is after all a small office home office distro. has all the KDE apps tho. here's some shots of vector;

xfce desktop environment. res 1024x768. KDE is available.
