i'm really not as excited as i was the first time i ran this. i think i was just surprised to find a couple of applications i didn't expect such as, azureus, skype, and real player. this is an old version. the current release is 3.4-3 rc4. previous releases are all rc's (release candidate) or test versions. i guess that's how some of these linux distros are named. they're always updating, upgrading, or improving something. that's a good thing though. what i find now is a major problem. the synaptic package manager doesn't work. which means you can't update or auto install software. it comes with an old version of firefox also (1.0.3). it is a live cd that can be used to install itself and then update, i think. it really doesn't make much sense to install updates to a live cd only to lose them when you reboot. i guess it's time to stop playing with this version and check out the new one. everything else seems ok.

desktop. KDE dominates this distro.

azureus. not sure why one would run this from a live cd unless there's a way to save whatever you download to your hard drive.
