Broni, ole buddy, just had to quote Kim Komando today,"...I personally wouldn't bother with 98. It is an old and obsolete operating system. As Ray, my IT director, said, it's time to send your Edsel to the junkyard..." :fat_face_smiling:

I'm sure Broni will reply, but I couldn't help myself. It appears Kim is not into classics. My 98 runs good and does everything I ask it to do. Junkyards are fine, but not for classics.

Boy, that is true, but the classics are to put in the shop and look at, not actually USE. :rofl1: :rofl1:

Kim is obviously a tad out of touch with the legacy gaming crowd. I wouldn't part with my 98SE computer for any amount of money. I had it built 6 years ago and it is my "old faithful." I maxed out the RAM, added USB2.0, added a CD burner and need to upgrade my video card, but I love my old OS. I have my new XP computer and my old one connected with a KVM switch so I can use my nice 19" LCD monitor and the same mouse and the setup is ideal for me. I can slip a classic like Grim Fandango into the old 98 with no twiddling and tweaking XP to get it to run.

Long live 98!

ww...
I understand perfectly what you are saying, but...
1. I'm still having my original computer with Win 98, and I see nothing wrong about it. I'm not into heavy gaming, or graphics, and as Bob said, it does everything what it's asked for. On the other hand, I have that friend, who doesn't know much about computers, he has top of the line computers, and he keeps calling me for some help, which I believe, he creates.
2. I have another machine with Windows 2000, and I'm happy with it, as well.
3. I have another laptop with Windows 2000, and it gives me no problem, as well.
.....
4. I used to read Kim Komando newsletter, but I stopped my subscription, and I'm about to do same thing to Fred Langa's newsletter. I think, they are both smartass**, and I don't like it

I am not much on Langa either, another big ego with ten cents of knowledge. Most Microsoft experts on help sites are not that brash and arrogant.
