Fran........it would be good idea for you to take that email and turn it in to Paypal right here........
http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_...-center-outside
Once there in the right hand column you will see....ALERT US TO FRAUD, then click on this.....Fake Email/Website (Spoof, Phishing). This has happened to me before and they were very appricative that I notified them.

I delete any and all e-mails from them, enless I start the contact. And I rarely use their service. And when I do I pay by debit card, then!

In any case like this one, there is one safe solution.
(I had PayPal e-mails, as well, and I do have PayPal account).
If you don't have an account with particular company, just delete an e-mail, or mark it as "junk" (depending on your browser).
If you do have an account with particular company, call them (DON'T e-mail back), and ask them, if they send you any e-mail. In most cases, they'll deny.

My approach has always been to ignore/del all. I figure if it's real, they can canx me out and if and when I need to use again (I bet my acct is still good) but if not, I'll open again. What amazes me is that I do not routinely get these scam messages. But if I use my Pay Pal, they start coming !!! How do the scammers know?
But they try all ways to get tour attn. Like a few will come saying, "we made your requested change to your Pay Pal acct." I am amazed that ANYONE would fall for this stuff, but I guess if they just get one dummy, it's worth it. Who said "there is a sucker born every minute?" rob

I haven't used my account in 4 years and it is still good. I just use the tool if the site only accepts Pay Pal and then it is with the debit card.
I never put any money in their account for me! thats what a debit card is for!
But what ever way as long as the one you use is safe.
