Well I ran into my first minor road block...a road block that I created myself mind you.

Since my new Dell Laptop is using the new 802.11"N" I decided to get a new router that supports the new Wireless-N. I picked up a Linksys WRT300N router.

My problem was I tried to use WEP (lazy) instead of the more secure WAP or WAP2. After setting up the Laptop for WEP I found that I could not access the external internet...I could connect to the router but not outside. After doing some Googling I found that there are known issues with Vista and WEP. I then changed the security to WAP2 Personal and bang instant Internet.

Here are a few links that I was using to investigate this...
- http://www.wi-fiplan...cle.php/3666216

I'll add more as I find them...

I haven't used 802.11N yet. I'm curious and looking forward to learning more about it.

Your laptop has a great video card. Have you ever considered trying a benchmark program to see how it does?

Here is a link for 3DMark 2006 if you're curious also.

If you decide to install 3DMark 2006, send me a PM and I'll send you a product code for the pro version.

Hi Smokey...

I took a look at 3DMark 2006...I ran into an issue as it wanted to install Directx9c and I'm already running version 10. I could not use the program as I said no to installing version 9.

It was just trying to add a couple files to DirectX9. When the program was written, DirectX10 was not available. As you can see by my screenshots, it didn't alter my directX10's
