Brother in Louisville running Vista. IE7 keeps shutting down with this message:

"Internet Explorer has encounted a problem and is shutting down. Will notify you if there is a solution" or
something very close to that.

Anybody have this situation?

You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

Ask him to go Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, and click on "Reset" button. Restart computer.
Some add-on may be causing it.

We found it.....I think. Something called "MY2FREEZE.COM". Kept jumping in front of his surfing.
Coldn't get rid of it long distance over the phone....my non-knowledge of Vista and his of computers in general. Since he didn't have many personal files, and the one's he did were backed up, told him to re-load in the factory settings and go back to go.
Now we cant get the sound to work! If I was up there I could have bombed that "Freeze" bit, but I didn't
dare try to steer him around the registry.
Isn't life fun? Beats being in Baghdad though.........................
