Runtime Error............Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

When I open IE, it shuts right back down. I can't even get a chance to click on Tools. It doesn't even show up in Control Panel. How do I fix it.
Also this pops up, but don't know if it is related......Softwrap File Error1

Thanks for the help.

Yes, but I guess Vista doesn't hold many restore points. I could only restore back to the 19th.
While I'm waiting think I'll put some security things on there and run through them to see if there is any virus or the such. Since this person has nothing not even AV. One of those people that think you just plug in your computer and start computing.... http://www.smartestc...tyle_emoticons/default/mad.gif

Those two errors are probably unrelated.
Softwrap File Error1 may be some leftover from uninstalled software.
As for IE errors, I suspect some infection, since Tools menu is missing.
We'd have to run some scans, and have more info about the computer in question.
Is it your friend computer?

After all the clean and uninstalling of a bunch of junk the Runtime error is gone. I found that the softwrap error had to do with a program called Blubster. I uninstalled that and that error is gone.
Oh, and Internet Options is now back in Control Panel, guess I did pretty good.... :wow:
Thanks for the almost help......lol http://www.smartestc...tyle_emoticons/default/kiss_you.gif

It'd be probably good idea to post HJT log from that computer, since Blubster was in use, and no antivirus present.

Sorry about that, but you know that Vista doesn't except everything. I couldn't use Ccleaner, MRUBlaster, EmptyTemp and a few others which HJT was one of them.
Believe me, HJT was one that I truly wanted to run. Just doing the best that I can with this Vista.

It is Robyn's friend computer and he bought it used and has had nothing but troubles. He doesn't even have recovery CD. So, there isn't much I can do with it.

This is not Vista. The computer is messed up. All those programs should run on Vista without any problem.

What was exact problem with running HJT?

lol....don't remember because I've done so many other things. Will try it again and let you know. In the mean time.....I have 2 files in Windows Temp that will not delete. How do I get them to delete. It says I have to close the folder, but don't have that option in my right click.

Files are: Logishrd & JETC2F0.temp

Peggy
You have to start with right sequence.
I suspect, the computer is still infected, so don't worry about some temp files, for now.
Let me know, what's going on with HJT.

I did the HJT log and have it saved on his desktop. When he gets home with it I told him to send it to me. There was a problem connecting to the internet with my DSL because of those 2 temp files and the connect CD wouldn't let me install my router. Soon as he gets the HJT log to me you can see what is going on.

Okay, I got the HJT log and will post in appropiate area. I looked at it that I see there are quite a few nasties, but most of that stuff is what I delete from his computer.
He will bring his tower back next weekend for me to take care of his HJT, since he has no clue.
Thanks for the help, again..... :bighug:
Oh by the way, I never did get Spybot S & D to install correctly, so this log is without running it.

Don't worry about Spybot. I don't use it, and I don't even recommend it anymore.
I'll check HJT log, now.
