Is it possible to get the product install key from a HDD which is in a HDD enclosure?
The HDD was in a computer and has Win XP Pro loaded on it. Is now in an enclosure as a storage drive.

I'll leave the easy way for the experts, but I've always found it whenever I've run a Belarc Advisor on a system. It's anear the bottom of the reoprt under the heading "Products".

You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

Harry, Belarc Adviser will only read the product code from the booted system not the external hard drive.

Larry, I think jelly bean will work the same way no matter where it is installed.

Don, You need to search the external HD for a file called ntuser.bat "C:\Documents and Settings\(User Name)\ntuser.dat". Once you have the file you have to use a tool like This One to read the .dat file.
