A friend in Michigan asked me:

"Is the linksysfix.com/ela website gone?
It looks like linksysfix is gone. I used to use linksysfix.com/ela to connect a second laptop to my wireless network. What do I use now?"

I have used this site from Linksys many times. Easiest way in the world to add a wireless to your network. Looks like they have shut it down (will probably become a PR nightmare).

Think I know their game plan. Cisco (who bought Linksys) just bought out PURE SYSTEMS which has software programs that manage and install networks. Rather than the now "free" ability to establish a home network using the software available at "linksysfix.com/ela", I bet that they will want to charge or sell you a program to do this.

BOTTOM LINE:
Can anyone suggest an alternate site or an easy solution to pass on to her? She's running XP Pro on a
Dell 1525 Laptop and wants to add it to her Home Network.

Thanks in advance.....................

You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

What a shame, Network Magic used to be free for home users up to 3 computers.
