Anyone have an idea how to remove an entry from 'Services' ? I have an entry - McAfee Application
Installer Cleanup - I uninstalled McAfee some time ago. I have it disabled but would like to remove it.
I tried the run - sc delete service name, but it didn't work for me. Also the path when click on Properites
is invalid. I also looked in registry for any McAfee junk & deleted a couple of them but the entry in
Services remains. Guess I'm just "picky".. :head_wall:

sc delete service name
What did you use as service name?
Right click on McAfee Application Installer Cleanup service, click "Peoperties", and look under "Service name".

Broni, the service name 0119161195677996mcinstcleanup. when I tried to delete it this is the
blurb I got - "unable to query status for service McAfee Appliation Installer Cleanup
(0110161195677996). The remote connection on local computer has been broken." I tried
several difference names but none worked for me. Holy S___! I just went and checked Services
again & the McAfee thingy is gone!! I had been re-booting after trying the deletion stuff but
it was still present just a short bit ago.. Dunno what happened or how :bald_head: but -
glad it's gone http://www.smartestc...tyle_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif
