Ok heres the deal(howdy everyone!! long time no see)

XP pro, recently updated to SP3,I updated to SP3 on the girlfriends laptop,I had to do some maintanice to it and decided to create my own account named Jim with full control, heres was named Heather with full control and a passwod to log in.After I restarted it I noticed that there was NO mention of her on the log in screen,I went into the docs and there was nothing in there with her name on it,the lappy is sitting on my desktop now waiting to be fixed, now what Im wondering is this,if I do a system restore ya think I will get everything back of hers? Or if I logged in under safe mode could I log in as admin and delete my account and get her account back?
She did not hide her files from other users if that helps any. As it stands, she doesnt know I hosed her system up,yet, when she does,Im gonna need to move in with onw you !lol.

Jimbo, try a system restore before SP3, it should of created a restore point. If that doesn't work, blame it on SP3, your slipping, you must be getting old. http://www.smartestc...tyle_emoticons/default/yahoo.gif http://www.smartestc...tyle_emoticons/default/yahoo.gif

Hello Jim, It's good to hear from you again. How are you feeling? I'm sure that everyone would like to know.

I have never run into this problem, maybe another member has and will respond later. Let me start out by saying; I am not a fan of SP3. It has caused tons of extra work for me. It's my opinion that SP3 is likely the problem but that's only a guess. I would restore her computer back to the restore point that SP3 created before it installed itself.

Included in the SP3 package is a security program called "Digital Identity Management Service (DIMS)". It's my guess that the new (DIMS) is the problem. Again, this is only a guess. Google may tell you more on the subject.

Woops jram, looks like we were posting at the same time....
