I went to my program files 1st time in over a month and as soon as I opened l got the error have encountered an error and must close..This was in event viewer HEEEEELP

I'm sure I can't help, but I Googled it and found a lot about such problems on many forums. Try that--maybe it will give you a clue until someone who knows what they are talking about shows up to help.

Mentioned file is a codec.

Searched for that file in search and dos and both said file didn't exist,so I downloaded K-lite codec pack seems to have cleared the problem up I can get in program files now with out the error. Also now have mpegsplitter.ax file with K-lite codec pack. Should I keep K-lite pack or delete it?

Keep it. This is the best codec pack, I'm aware of.
