Please help me set the correct settings or what you would recommend for overclocking using the AI Booster without going into the Bios.

The settings are CPU Frequency, CPU Ratio, Dram Frequency, PCIE Frequency and Dram Voltage. I have DDR3 6Mb's installed. Also if you would give me any other SAFE tips for overclocking I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your help my friends!

Unfortunately, by the definition of overclocking there is no totally safe way to do it. Overclocking is an act of forcing hardware to do more than what the hardware was designed to do, voids any and all warranties. Just as with using BETA software, doing the overclocking is taking a big risk that something will fail and it will be AT YOUR COST.

Hi Broni,

Yes I have...but thanks for your response anyway. I posted on the Asus boards over 24 hrs. ago and I can't believe that I haven't had one response and I have an Asus board! My question not important enough I guess. Thanks!

I've read your thread over at Virtual Dr and those folks are steering you in the tight direction.

Don't let folks like Berton discourage you with statements like this;

He obviously has never overclocked anything. The Dells that he owns won't allow it. On the other hand that Asus board that you have is made for overclocking so have some fun doing it.

The AI Booster was developed by Asus for beginners. It overclocks, changes memory timings and other settings automatically. It's very safe to use. Like those Virtual Dr members said, slow and easy and watch your temperatures.

Good luck to you rgarr and before you know it you will be overclocking manually. That's when the fun really starts.

I'm not trying to "scare anyone off", just making a simple statement that things can't always be done as one wishes. And YES, I have overclocked computers, first was an 80386-33MHz that I bumped up to 40MHz, and it did outperform the 33MHz settings. I also killed an 80486-DX2/66MHz by overclocking beyond what the CPU could handle.

Technology has progressed rapidly since 1989 when your 80486-DX2/66MHz was first introduced. These Asus boards are made for overclocking your old Intel board was not. Thats one of their biggest selling points. It's not that risky as it was in the past.

Ditto to that...I think the secret is doing it in very small increments to see if everything runs stable!
