Just picked up a Microtech. Won't recognize a USB mouse. The answer is staring me in the face, just can't see it.
Comes up with the usual "new hardware found....mouse" and NO MOUSE!

Can somebody straighten me out here?

BTW, dont have and old wired mouse around either.....................

You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

Some computers are touchy about which USB port is used. I try to keep the mouse and keyboard in the ports closest to the PS/2 ports or the power supply.
