When using MSN to access this site, (Topic: which skins do you like), the computer freezes and I get the
info that site not responding (Task Manager), computer usage goes up to 100%. Only noticed this in the
past week. I can go to any other subject & all works ok except for this certain subject. I can use FF &
no problems but using either IE7 or MSN, have this problem. Ran several scans (Malware bytes, Super Anti
spyware, Bit Defender on line scan, Windows Defender and Webroot spysweeper and all sez nothing found/
computer running normal.
Anyone have any idea what the H is going on ? Thanks, Jim

me again...????

Not sure jimo1mo... *scratches head* I've use all the browsers (IE 7.0, IE 8.0, Chrome, Flock, FF, etc), except MSN, and various OS's (WinXP, WinVista, Win7, Ubuntu, Puppy Linux, etc) and I have not have any of the issues that you are having. Very interesting... Posted Image

I am having the same problem as Jimo1mo, since this board was updated, I no longer can get in this website, my computer freezes "not responding" Have tried other subjects especially POTW but does not load, keeps freezing up and no way to get out, without "control, alt, delete" then my AOL is disconected. I only use IE 6, no other browser. It has gotten to the point I no longer try to access this websiste, sad, because I really enjoyed the comraderie.

Note: I can get into all other websites on the computer, except this website!!!.

I only use IE 6

I'm sorry but I don't think IE6 is supported on this web site, I think you will see IE6 more and more losing support. Try FF, it uses the javascript and flash differently. Firefox right here

more here and here

Jada, I use FireFox so I had not seen this problem. After reading your post, I tried getting in with IE6, and, sure enough, I had the same problems you did. I had to go into Task Manager to get out. So, I am sure Jram is right.

Try FF. If you don't use it, you'll like it.

Don't know what the glitch was but had the same thing happen to me on my other computer also... Today it seems
to be ok tho. Was wondering if it had something to do with the latest cumulative update for IE7 because after
I updated that seemed to be when the problem began..Oh well

Just to add to what JR said....IE6 is not compatible with number of today web standards, and IE6 will have problems on many web sites.

Hi, just thought I would let you know that I still use IE 6 Sp 1 or 2 can't remember exactly, and when this board was updated, could not get in correctly, using IP board skin. Some topics would load correctly, and some not, especially POTW, which I really liked to see. So I would periodically stop in, and finally decided to change skins, tried quite a few and still did not work, finally used IP Duo (import) and guess what? Every topic loaded correctly, I could see and read all topics, so, if I might be so bold as to say, "Please leave this skin!"
As I mentioned before, I have no trouble going from website to website using IE Sp1 or 2, and am quite pleased to be back here. Thanks to all who mentioned Firefox, will look into that when I get a little braver.
Thanks, Jada

Jada
IE6 is a very ancient browser, and it's not compatible with number of current web standards.
It's time to get IE7, or switch to Firefox.

Hi Jada...I would not worry about installing FF...It will not overwrite your IE6.0 and it will even install\copy your present IE "Favourites" if you want it to during the installation process so you will be able to use your fav web pages, like this site, in FF. :)

Smokey created this page to install FF...It's a little dated but still helps you with the install process if you decide to install FF...

:hi: , Thanks for the gentle push, took a big step and downloaded IE 7 :bravo: Everything is working well, and the next giant step will be FF. Thank You, to Broni and Dobhar for the suggestions!
