Xp disc always goes to the desktop. I can't get it to the point of saying "boot from any CD", so that I can install it.
What reasons are there that it doesn't boot correctly and what do I do about it, please.

Or if it's Dell there is a Boot Option (F12 key)...
- Once you turn it on (1 or 2 seconds) you will see, in the upper right hand corner, 2 options...One will say F2 for Setup options and the other will say F12 for Boot options.
- Press the F12 Key a few times...you should hear it beep
- You will then get a choice of what you what to use to boot...choose the CD\DVD option
