So... my wife is having difficulties with IE8 on her Vista 64 computer. Usually, it is fine, but she tends to have connection issues where IE8 will fail to connect. She can close IE and re-start and then it will connect. Often the tabs that are connected will continue fine but the new one where she changed the address for a new site just sits there waiting to connect. It is annoying for her and I understand that.
She has anti maleware and anti virus. Scans don't reveal any problems. Most of the time her connection is fine. Her computer is connected to the same router (wired) as my Vista and my Ubuntu computer, neither of which have any problems connecting with Firefox to any sites, including the one she can't connect to at the same time.
I won't tell her to just use Firefox, she doesn't want to, lol.
I've done a search and found some similar problems, but no real solutions. Anyone here have any ideas on this issue?
I can't see that it matters, but the system is:
OCZ ModXStream 500Watt power supply
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R motherboard
Core2Duo E8500
BFG GTX 260 216
Western Digital Velociraptor 300G
4G Corsair 6400C4

Then...
Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same thing?

That's good advice Broni, but to get it to work she just needs to restart IE, or even re-load the tab. So starting IE without add-ons really won't answer the question because it isn't different from restarting IE itself. And starting Firefox when IE won't load is really the same thing.
Here's something I can do though. I'll have her run IE without add-ons for a while (unless she finds that she can't get along with that for long) and just see how the performance goes that way for a while. Maybe that will put the fault on the add on.
Edit: lol, I guess that is what you were saying the first time around. Use those browsers for a while and see if it shows the same problem. Will do :)

Okay, so I made the "no add-ons" version easy for her to use if she wants. So now she can use either and she can tell me if she has the same problem with the "no add-on" version. If she doesn't want to use it (most of her pages require add-ons it appears), then we won't know. Up to her at this point.
