My computer keeps freezing, but the weird thing is my computer is running clean and fast but when i'm using the internet/firefox or another programs like photoshop. sometimes the program becomes unresponsive, then I try to exit out or run the task manager, but then the computer lags for a while then it freezes. But my computer is fast and everything seems to be fine except this problem.

Please, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")
- security programs in use (antivirus, firewall)

I'm using Comodo Antivirus(not Firewall) + Windows Firewall

Something extra too: I saw this. So i did what it said a couple of times. Then i saw this post in a similar topic. and i think that MIGHT be affecting my freezing problem. i wanna know how to undo it if that's the problem.

All those tricks usually do more harm, than good.
You have 1GB of RAM and it's plenty for running XP smoothly.
If it doesn't, you have to look for real culprits, not turn to any tricks.
Those tricks may have some merits, if you have a little RAM, but it's not your case.

I suggest, you start with system restore to a date prior to applying those fixes and then we'll investigate further.
Temperatures, processor speed, RAM amount look good.

You didn't say, what is the size of your hard drive and how much of a free space is left.

No, no, I asked about your hard drive size and free space on it:
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")

Oh, i see what my problem was. here it is.

And by the way, i remembered a couple days ago using TuneUp utilities. i did a maintence check and it had to delete some registry keys and dlls and some things like that. and that's about the time it started freezing, so i did a backup on that, and hoping/wondering if it'll work.

That's another thing. Don't use any of those miracle tools.

Let me know, how your computer is doing after using system restore.

Hard drive space looks good too.

Also...

Download Autoruns for Windows: http://technet.micro...s/bb963902.aspx
No installation required.
Simply unzip Autoruns.zip file, and double click on autoruns.exe file to run the program.
Go File>Save, and save AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
Attach the file to your next reply.

Try system restore from Safe Mode.
I'll be checking your Autoruns log.

You have almost no startups, so there is no issue here.

Broni this one takes no guessing, his RAM is pretty low for any big photo editing software. I have 8gb of RAM for my PhotoElements 8 and PhotoImpact and my CS3. That is not enough for those programs. I know my system enough to know about how long I can mess around with these programs before one gets shutdown which is about a two hours or so, than I save my object I am working on shutdown the program and clear my cache. I get a program freezeup yet everything else is working
