Have a HP DV7-1270us with Win 7 Professional 32 bit installed. To take advantage of max memory, want to go to Win Pro 32 bit.
What is the cheapest route? In other words, what do I need to buy to get there?

Thanks in advance, and have a great day!

You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

"To take advantage of max memory, want to go to Win Pro 32 bit."

Should have read "want to go to Win Pro 64 bit"

Do you have Win 7 DVD, or it came preinstalled?

It was a "raincheck" Windows 7 Upgrade Option (Windows Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional) from a prior purchase. Plainly states on the disk "This DVD supports 32-bit edition only".
This answers the question as to the disk having both 32 & 64 bit versions.
Guess my question is, knowing I'm going to have to buy something, is there an "upgrade" (with clean install) rather than paying the whole $199 for the 64-bit version? I can easily re-install the Vista version back, if needed for verification.
Micro$oft sure didn't make this choice and route business easy, did they?
