I have an "older"(2003) Motherboard using socket 754 and my current processor is an AMD Athlon 64 3200 cache 512,. I was wondering if I upgraded to a 3700 cache 1 (max recommended cpu for my motherboard) if I would see any "real" difference or am I wasting my money? I am not in a situation to purchase a new PC, or motherboard, cpu, memory etc... so my options for now are an continued upgrade on my current system.

I am currently running Windows XP Home
2 gb memory (system max) DDR 400 PC3200 low density
2 harddrives 250gb with 55% free space and 120gb with 74% free space
AGP 7600 NIVDIA graphics card

My computer is running great I would just like to max it out without overclocking and was wondering if i would see any earth shattering changes from one cpu to the other?

If you need any further inforamtion please ask.
Thanks

According to this chart you'd gain only about 200MHz in raw speed:

You'd probably would not notice the difference and it really isn't cost-effective considering your described restrictions.
