My wife's computer was a dual boot Vista/XP machine. When I got Win 7, I created a new partition and did a clean install of 7. During that install, a Homegroup was created. I did not record the password.
Then I did an upgrade (yeah, I know but we went through this on another thread! Upgrade working flawlessly, I might add!) over the Vista install on my computer. I was told that there was a Homegroup but did not join it.
Then my wife got a Win 7 notebook and we did not join the Homegroup.
Now, the source of the problem... My wife really liked 7 and was tired of playing with Vista so I deleted the 7 partition and did an upgrade to 7 over her Vista install. Works great.
So now it's time to set up a Homegroup so that these three Win 7 machines can communicate, right? Can't do it. All three machines show that there is an existing Homegroup established (created by the now deleted clean install) and the only option (that I can find) is to "join." And we can't join because I don't know the password.
So, how do I blow away the old Homegroup and establish a new one!
