Windows dropping some support for XP and Vista
http://www.infopacke...ending_soon.htm

For those who can't afford to Upgrade Windows
For the folks who can't afford a New Computer. Or afford to buy a New operating system. That doesn't want to run Linux. Does Not want to pirate or break the law and steal Windows. But wants a Windows type of Operating system that is Free. Minimum requirements http://www.reactos.o...em_Requirements

This Operating system called ReactOS has been in the works for a couple of years now. It is in the Aplha stage at present. It will run on low spec hardware. It is free to download and use.

I am just posting this as a option for those that would never run Linux. But can't afford to buy Windows 7 or their equipment is to old to run Windows 7 and they wish a Windows Like operating system that is compatible with .exe type of downloads and installs. I have no affliation with these folks. I won't even run this as I am more comfortable using Linux than a Windows type operating system.

You can download the iso and burn it to cd using a free ware Windows software burner like http://www.imgburn.com/

If you wish to check md5sum of download for download file integrity. A good one for Windows is WinMD5Sum http://www.nullriver...ducts/winmd5sum

This operating system uses a registry. Just like in Windows.
It is free. Depending on the computer operator. You can make the skins and windows as fancy as you want I guess. It will run as a Live CD as I have done this myself to see the way it is. Don't be put off by the Alpha warning and saying this is not a regular operating system on the web page, It ran OK for me. I just don't do Windows.

Below is where you can find it

I am just posting this for knowledge and for those folks that might be unaware that this project even exists. Happy Trails, Rok
