Linux serves well as a file server for (OS X & Windows) if you have the Samba component loaded
you can pickup a sample smb.conf file here

When files are on the Linux Server, it is the Samba Host
and you can get some info for that here

On the otherhand, when your Linux user needs access to Windows or OS X shares, here's some details on Linux Samba Client usage

I love Samba. It really is very easy and it is fantastic for sharing files with anyone on the network. Of course, I spoke about it a lot in some threads below :fat_face_smiling:
