I'd assume, you have a friend, or a family member, who have a digital camera?

What kind of WebCam? I probably won't be of any help with Windows7 being a Linux user but other forum members might be able to get you to understand how to take your picture using your webcam and appropriate software. Did you get a driver cd with your webcam and if so. Give us the model number, manufacturer make, and any info that might be on the cd.

If no cd. We might be able to point you to the correct software to run your webcam with the make and model number provided. Also is this a built in Laptop webcam or a Desktop webcam. If a Laptop. Provide the make and model number of your laptop also. Happy Trails, Rok

Edit: also if this is laptop webcam. Give us the name of the preinstalled Windows 7 software that the webcam uses. Might be able to find a how to on how you should run the camera also.

My Acer Notebook has Win7 and automatically installed the Web cam drivers but since I don't use IM or Chat I needed a program. I downloaded the free YAWCAM from http://www.yawcam.com/download.php and installed it. All I then needed was to open the program and select the camera. The program has a Capture feature if one wants to save an image of themself.

When my Microsoft LifeCam software doesn't want to play well on my computer I just switch over to ManyCam, works well and it's free....
