I found out about it this afternoon and I was forced to perform massive deletion of some data, mostly images.
Some other problems came up during the process, so I had to contact our host to fix couple of things.
We exceeded our quota by over 100MB.
By now, all should be back to normal.
However, some things may be missing.
You may need to re-upload your picture, if any.
That's the only issue, I found, so far.
If there are any others, please, report them here.

I will try to keep a ticker and clean up the photo forum every few months. I suggest that photos loaded should be no more than 600pixels per the longest side and no more than 3 can be loaded at any one time. This will help hold down size and quantity that uses a lot of space. Just a suggestion, but as I mod two other photo forums that is the standard size allowed on them. The DPS digital photo forum is 700pixes but one shot only with links to photobucket, or Flickr allowed.

For some reason very few things are working on the forum for me. No animations, past posts are scrambled, no desktop pic on portal (says I need a plug-in but everything is up to date and I tried other browsers just to make sure), avatar gone.

I guess all my animations didn't help much,,,,,,I won't post them any more,,,,,,Delete that section.

Don't worry about it Keeper, it is the total volume that adds up and my fault for not dumping some oldies but goodies.

I apologize again and I'm asking for understanding.
I had to cut down disk quota from over 400MB to under 300MB.
I had no choice, but delete files in bunches.
We'll probably switch our board to a different package, so we won't have similar situation in the future.

I'm not sure but if people used ImageShack or some other photo hosting site, we wouldn't have this problem or run out of space. I think when we attach photos using " click to attach files " were using up our space, hosting the photos doesn't, I'm not how that works but can't see why hosting a photo would use up our space.

This is using ImageShack:

Note the July 1996 date, things have changed.
I'd prefer the Desktop and Picture of the Week remain so one could scroll through and compare images rather than leaving the site.

I agree with Berton we can just have a size requirement for POTW and Desktop. No more than one photo per post and use links as suggested via Image shack, Flickr, Photobucket etc for additional shots in same post.

I usually use TinyPic
to host pictures and screenshots. I am guilty of being lazy because I see all the animations and stuff on the forum being posted via the upload tab. I will start using my TinyPic account instead.
I think this is the only forum I don't use a external account with. Also the only forum where I post images regularly. Promise I will do better.

I mentioned leaving the site to view images only because not everyone uses a 'tabbed browsing' Internet browser yet and don't have computers with sufficient horsepower to have more than one copy of the browser open. It's real easy for us to forget what we used to do and that some people still have to operate that way.
