The photo shows three hard drives so I don't know which you got but that doesn't really matter. First setup the external hard drive by plugging it into the main PC usb drive. Take note of what drive it is called such as D or E drive.

Than plug in the flash drive to a separate USB drive and in windows 7 a plugnplay menu should popup and you select (left click) open folder to view files.
Attached Image: flash drive.JPG
your files on the flash drive will open than select the folder that you have the photos in right click on it and you will see a another menu, go down to send to and click to send it to your external hard drive if it is D or E, that should start sending the photos directly to the external drive. Do that with each flash until you have all the photos loaded on the external drive.
Attached Image: file to mjove.JPGThe photos to move was the one I right clicked to send to the external hard drive which on my machine was L. Once they are moved they still remain on the flash drive until you delete that folder. I went back to the flash drive that is still connected and right clicked on folder and deleted. That is pretty much it.

The only issue with Notebooks is they seldom have enough USB ports. My MacBook Pro has only 2 USB ports which is why I use a Bluetooth Wireless Mouse, have a new HP Notebook ordered that also has the Bluetooth feature.

Whenever possible I plug in an External drive and copy from Thumb/Flash drives directly to the HDD. The transfers tend to take longer than copying to or from the HDD but then I don't have to back to the HDD and delete what was copied.
