My mouse pointer on my hp G61 Windows 7 laptop is very unstable. I jumps all over the place,I just installed updated Synaptic touch pad drivers for the thing and it worked well for about 3 hours. Yesterday I did a system restore, and it worked well for about 5 hours, and then went back to jumping all over the place. Now my Windows 7 desk top does not have this problem. Nod 32 and Trojan Remmover, and even Windows Defender can't find a bug yet. The thing will even change the page just hovering over something. # Processor AMD Sempron M100 / 2.0 GHz with 3 G's of RAM.

Hi Audrey my thing is, we should be able to use the touch pads without problems. I am so angry and determined to fix this problem.
I like taking my laptop out with me sometimes, and I should be able to use it out of the house without taking a external.

My wife had the same problem when typing, resting the thumb on the touch pad caused problem. We also use USB Wireless mice on some Notebooks plus a Microsoft Bluetooth on my MacBook Pro and will use a Logitech Bluetooth on my new HP when the mouse gets here. One nice feature on a few models of Toshiba is a switch between the touchpad and the keyboard that toggles the touchpad on or off.

Just ran spy sweeper and nothing, so I will rule out any bugs. I was reading one article and it said that FireFox 3 was the culprit, well in his case anyway. And that post is here.
