Just remebered why I moved from Vista having used it today. It's so slow even with 2gb RAM. :gallery_49404_3_2468:

Ubuntu just flies!!

Anyway ... it's great that there's choice out there.
Windows for those that want it, Linux in various guises for those that don't.

I started using Linux basically from the saying

"Necessity is the Mother of Invention"

I was basically put in a situation of "Adapt or Die"

I could not see the sense in running a Operating system that cost more than my gear. Plus. I realized that anyone who knew programming or the inner workings of operating systems used a GNU/Linux operating system.

It takes a adventurous spirit, a thick skinned soul, with a never say die attitude. To go from uneducated point and click Windows User. To a command line tweeker who feels comfortable running GNU/Linux. In my travels through the Linux world. I have found that college educated system forensic Windows computer students are more lost using a Linux computer than a self taught GED senior citizen who has to talk baby programming steps to these so called educated college students. I guess commmon sense and good work ethics beat the hell out of a college education (from what I have seen. Just my Opinion though).

I think Broni is one of the few people on the net who knows me real well. He saw my evolution over time.
:Have a nice day:

Yes, I've crashed my Ubuntu versions a few times through being over confident!! But it only takes 30 mins to be back up & running with an install and Remastersys has bailed me out. I'm old fashioned and like a CD/DVD backup to hold in my paw!

Thanks for that link. I think I'll give it a try sooner rather than later. And just in case I'll do a Remastersys as well the first time as a fail-safe 'cos you can't have too many backups!!
