My son (Scott) is having a problem with his Vista. He can't do anything for it telling him he doesn't have permission. It also tells him he doesn't have admins. rights. How in Vista do you get it right, thank you?
I looked up some of it and we tried the msconfig, but that tells him he doesn't have permission. I'm clueless when it comes to Vista.

I think, it must be a broader issue.
Either his profile is corrupted, or the computer is infected.

See, if you can get to Vista hidden administrator account: http://www.howtogeek...-windows-vista/
If so, create new administrator account and see, if that solves the issue.
