Been trying to post this for a few days. Every time I hit Preview it goes back to the Forums page and deletes my intended post. Will try again.

I have been getting this more and more recently. I have a relatively new Win7 Ultimate install, probably 3 weeks or so. I have used DVD Shrink for litteraly years, all of a sudden the error shown above.

If it doesn't show, the error is "DVD Shrink 3.2 has stopped working" options are - quit the program, or search the internet for a resolution and then quit the program. Either of which just clears the screen back to the Desktop. I let it go for a while figuring I'll get back to it. It has now happened with a couple of simple games the wife plays, and today I installed a new monitor my son got me for Christmas, and installing the Display Management program, got the same error.

Gonna post this without previewing it...

I have run Malwarebytes and other virus software all to no avail. Everything in this machine except the memory and the case is new within the last 3 or 4 weeks....

Suggestions??

TIA

The first question is do you do system security checks on a weekly basis to rule out any possible nasties that may have installed on your system? What about general system maintenance? Defrag once in awhile etc.......

I would imagine Broni and the more informed will be back tomorrow, but my first observation is wondering if you have a RAM module problem, one not working correctly or not seated correctly. Those errors on various programs can be memory related or many more things from heat problems to corrupted OS. I would take things one step at a time. If possible doing a system restore back to a date prior to when the problem started if that is possible, if not the easiest next thing is doing a uninstall reinstall of DVD shrink and see upon reinstall if it is working correctly.
Another would be to download Microsoft memory diagnostic tool and see if you do have memory problems. Also download a cpu temp monitor to see if you have processor overheating problems. Much of figuring out sytem problems is taking a step at a time of elimination.

John - thanks for your quick response. I have run just about my gamut of malware/virus scanners - all pretty clean. I reinstalled DVD Shrink twice so far, and that was including a new download of the same old program. I would do a system restore, but I don't actually know when the problem arose, I only know when I saw it. The memory program I will try....

Back soon

Thanx

Just D/L DVD Shrink to my quasi-server and installed it - no problem. Same software - Win7 Ultimate, cept the server is an Intel chip, my main box is an AMD product.

No they are separate problems. Am using Firefox V3.6.13

The picture has been D/L to Photobucket, and called from there with an [img] tag. For 2 days, every time I called 'Preview' from the full editor, my intended post disappeared and I went back to the 'Forums' page, and lost my post.

Following John's lead, I attempted to D/L RKTOOLS.exe - a part of Win Server that has the software for the creation of a CD with the appropriate memory testing software on it.

I just tried for the fourth time, it finally downloaded.

I will play with that and come back probably tomorrow - been a long day. Belated Merry Christmas to all....

Just a suggestion, DVD Shrink doesn't work in all OS's. There has been problems especially in in Vista and Win 7 and if you are using X64 Win 7 may not work at all. But here is a suggestion,Check for Data Execution Prevention (DEP) settings in Windows 7, that may help, otherwise check this software InfraRecorder

Pookiebear - you hit it on the head. I thought I had done that for DVD-S because I had just done it for another of the wife's games. I'm going to try it with a couple of the other programs that are doing the same..

Thanx
