Hi I have outlook 2003 pro installed on my system but it does not want to update, after looking at some area, the only place this file is found is in the system 32 folder which I only have due to having windows 7 professional and using the xp mode in module, where I can do an update, what I would like to know if this msiexec.exe file is availble fo 64 bit as I feel this is a problem my outlook 2003 pro won't install updates - as I get error 12007 server name could not be resolved

This part confuses me, msiexec.exe is the Windows Installer and all versions of Win7 I've seen including mine have that System32 Folder that contain that msiexec.exe file, not necessarily limited to having Windows XP Mode and the special version of WinXP Pro installed. The Folder Options, View tab may have it set to be hidden from the user.

You have both files and their backups in correct locations.

Keep in mind, that on 64-bit systems, 64-bit files are located in C:\Windows\System32 folder and 32-bit files are located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder.
Maybe confusing, but this is how MS does it.
