Where is it located then? In what program? Any program?

What is the exact error, when opening IE?

Sorry , didn't have e mail notification set .
"It only does this online as far as I know. Haven't noticed it on anything else. The error message from IE is the same one you get when a program is not responding. It says it has encountered an error and needs to close, then asks if you want to send an error message to Microsoft."

"Depends on what's running. On Facebook, it's either on the left or right side of the page and runs the full length of the page. It's usually when there's a picture showing. On hotmail, it could be anywhere on the page, usually between two letters of any word, maybe even a linked word."

Update.

installed some Microsoft updates this morning and got IE to work. checked a few websites and don't have the issue with the cursor, so maybe it's a FF thing.

Close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Same issue?
