Today I was to receive my hp Windows 7 laptop back from, hp shipped back from Lavergne Tennessee, but it never showed up. So upon looking at the FedEx tracking again. I saw that it had been delivered so I call FedEx and finds out that it had been delivered to the wrong address. So I call Hewlett Packard and find out that someone from Philadelphia a female, called and did a shipping address change update. This person who signed for it is a B Hunter, from west Philadelphia, on 57th street. They have had my laptop since the 21st or 22nd. I was so upset and angry. How did this person know that I had a laptop in repair, I don't even know this person. So hp has to give me a new laptop. I asked them to put the police on this person because they have the delivery address. And because they did that using FedEx it is a federal crime. So this person or persons has my e-mail addresses, and God knows what else, I did not put to much very important stuff on that laptop. But I feel very, very violated, and very angry. They must be very stupid knowing that they had to give an address and had to sign for it, and hp knows where it was sent. I told hp this was not my fault, I sent my laptop which is still under warranty to you guy's for repair, and it comes up missing. Now the case manager who is handling my case said that I should get another one as soon as the administration approves it. Which should not be a problem. But I have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to hear back from hp. In the meantime I am still very, very angry. I am a male so how could you let a female call and make a address change, her name is not Lewis Williams, I don't get that.
So what are these people doing hacking into peoples computers, or hacking into computer chat support, because chat support asks you not to send credit card information when you are doing chat support. So I wonder just how secure chat support is. I used chat support about 4 times while my notebook was being repaired. So that is what my day has been like.

I am truly sorry about your misfortune. An added suggestion would be that someone in one of those companies had to have said information and passed it on to someone else. Employees of some companies are known to do this without any regards to the consequences. If it was me I would also notify any police services with full written reports form all companies involved as this could be the start of some serious identity theft problems for you.

Well the good thing is, they have to fix this. And I did not give them extra ammo,I never talked to anyone except the repair people. As far as saying my name over here, there should be thousands with that name in the country, and some here already know my full name.

True but with a phone directory alone there is enough for me to call you at home or hijack your net, I have some idea as to what I am talking about here I have had simualr issues. Th world has some twisted Mo' Fo's out there. But I hope things look up for you, and yes customer service is a dying art form.

I know that you know what you are talking about I have had my yahoo e-mail page stolen before and a phony one put up. But anyway I got the culprits address and I did a google map and looked right at their front door. she is in my old neighborhood right around the corner from where I was raised, but I don't know this person. But I want the authorities on this person or persons. I don't know if this was a inside job or what. My thing is why would hp let someone who does not have my name make a update package detour change, I just don't get that. And because they had FedEx deliver a package because of criminal activity, it should be a federal crime. And unless this is a child I will prosecute.

If a child is smart enough to pull this off, they have done this probably more than once. Prosecute them period, I would no matter who they are.

Thanks Audrey, I will check that out, I use to do all my own repairs, but I have never repaired a laptop, same principle, I have changed a hard drive in my tablet, but that is about it. I and the hp guy can only come to one conclusion, and that is that my system got hacked into again. About 3 or 4 months ago more like 5 months ago, someone hacked my yahoo account and put up a phoney page that looked like my yahoo mail page but really was phony. So I tried to fix that and I did not do a good job I guess. From now on I am going to get as hard as the FBI when it comes to security. I have to do more I am a Nod 32 or a Bit Defender guy, and I have Comodo Pro firewall installed. Now I have to find a real good top of the line e-mail protection program. Who knows something ? I can't let this happen again. I remember the first time I got a hack, that was some of us were still with Smart Computing, my browser had got hacked and Broni had to find me a program to get rid of it, that was years ago. And I have had my browser hacked a few more times, but this one has me feeling real violated. And how secure is it when you pay bills online ? This has got me real angry. Oh yeah I remember years ago they had something that could come up with stolen computers by certain numbers or something I forgot what it was does anybody remember about that ? Well I am on my way to file the police report, the hp guy said to do that while he tries to get me another notebook. Okay I found something, this what I should have installed

Lewis, that is a new one on me, never heard of someone hijacking the delivery I would be climbing all over FedEx for their lack of security, they should have at least called the original receiver to verify the change - very poor. I would also let them know I will bad-mouth them every chance I get. (just like I do for NewEgg - read on...) Pretty sure HP will speak to them on your behalf.....
Along the same line, I received an E-mail from Bank of America just today saying my ATM card could no longer be used til I fixed a 'problem' - and to '..go to this website...' (have seen these before) I went to the site and it immediately asked me for some particulars which I decided was not too good. So I called BoA - seems that it was in fact legit - some touch hole used my ATM card #, which NEVER leaves my wallet, a few days ago for some 'Apple on-line site' - I have no reason to go to anything Apple - no charge, just a card verification. Yesterday a 1.00 charge was credited to my card for some dumb a$$ reason, today a 31.85 charge for some software was charged to my card (I don't pay for software) - BoA e-mailed me, who knows, tomorrow maybe a bigger charge would have gone thru.
My account is straight, but this is the second time, the first time was from NewEgg - someone charged almost 600.00 to my card, and the bimbo from NewEgg would not stop the FedEx shipment from leaving, as the product(s) were still in shipping, nor would she tell me where I supposedly had changed my address to.... then hung up when I demanded I speak to whoever signs her paycheck. Needless to say, I don't even look at NewEgg any more, I filed an FBI complaint but don't really know what happened - never heard. Prior to this I had probably ordered and received 6 to 7000.00 worth of stuff over a few years....
That is my gripe - please TELL me who did and is doing these things to my credit cards, I can positively insure it will never happen again.....
Guess I should just shut up and be glad they caught this one, as it seems I was being set up for maybe a bigger hit.

Just D/L Prey - my laptop never leaves my house, but my ATM card never leaves my wallet either.....

Thanks for the reply Ski, we have to better protect ourselves. But hp is the one who allowed someone to call and make the change. So it is their fault, FedEx only sent it where they told them. What thing went down is that I got key logged, and key logging has hurt millions. So today I got the best key logging program on the market it is called Zemana, this program is tops and does more than all the others for a cheaper price. You can check it out here.

Well here is what they are going to replace it with, which is better than the one that I had, so I have agreed to this one. And it is a bigger screen, my old one was a 14 inch and a single core this one is a dual core. My desktop is a dual core, and I never want another single core again. The missing notebook was also a 64 bit and this one is a 64 bit. And what I have found out is that many programs are not at 64 bits yet. The old one had a 250 GB hard drive, but this one has a 320. I had contacted them because my other PCU was a Pentium, and this CPU is a Athlon, and I did not like Athlon's but after some research and talking to a buddy, this Athlon II fits the bill. So I am pleased with the replacement. I should have it in a few days. I am going to do everything that I can to keep my security very tight, I wish that it was a way to send these people to jail.

This powerful laptop is equipped with an AMD Athlon II P340 processor and 3GB of memory for swift performance. Preloaded with Windows 7, this laptop is built for efficiency. A 320GB SATA hard drive provides ample space for files, and the LightScribe SuperMulti drive can read and write multiple formats for playing movies and music.

Thankfully, you'll soon have your replacement laptop. Have you heard anything from the police or HP about any progress in finding the culprits?
