Just installed mine - 61.3 MB on 32 bit. Install time = 8 min including re-boot, plus download time.

Seems to work...

I think that's right - partially depends on how up to date the computer is on MS updates, and, of course, 32/64 bit. I had only one re-boot.

Been trying today to download SP1 for my wife's laptop - their servers must be slammed. The download just stalls for 15 or 20 minutes so I cancel. I think I'll just wait a week or so - it's not like it's loaded with new goodies!

Ok - Finally got my wife's notebook (64 bit) updated. As I mentioned, the download would stall out for 30 min or so, so I "cancelled." Finally, about the fifth time the installation fired up and smooth sailing.

On her desktop (32 bit), the download went smoothly, install happened just as it should, then after the "Configuring..." screen, it hung at the "Shutdown" screen. I let it go for about 40 minutes, then did a hard reset. Booted up fine and completed the install.

The only file removal I've done is on my (32 bit) install - 640 MB according to Disk Cleanup. I don't recall that it took that long, but, it was deleting from a WD VelociRaptor. I want to leave the uninstall option on my wife's computers for a couple more days just in case.

Glad that I'm done - too much MS suspense for one week :1239:

Just cleaned up wife's laptop: 930 MB on 64 bit. Took a little less than 11 minutes.
