I received ,as a B-day present, a new monitor {Compaq S2022a} and need help on getting it set-up.
The default settings are for wide screen, but it looks like dung {stretched} so I set it to 4:3 ratio.
Now the Pix is AWESOME!!
Only one problem it fills but half of the screen...

Would there be a way to maybe do a split screen, or some such thing?
Open to all comers.

All monitors should run in native resolution.
If it's a wide screen monitor, you should leave it as such.

In your case: http://h20000.www2.h...odTypeId=382087
1600 x 900 factory-set resolution

Mine came set at 1024x768 not 1600 x 900 could that be why the screen looked stretched?
Can the pixal be rotated 90 degrees to make a normal looking page?

According to my link, you have a wide screen monitor.
1024x768 is NOT a wide screen resolution.
Set it to 1600 x 900.

How I read the doc supplied with the unit, and I read your link and did see how.
The monitor does not allow that number to be tweeked other than to change the ratio, and I tried to do this through XP {right click>properties....} but XP only goes to 12681280x768.

Agreed, most WXGA/Wide Screen LCD Flat Panel monitors are 16:9 ratio, might see one now and then that is 16:10. My 22" Acer is 1440x900.

You leave monitor alone.
You set resolution in your video card settings.
It's possible, that it won't allow it as high, as 1600 x 900, but you have to set it to wide screen.
Select one of these (the higher, the better):

http://www.intel.com.../cs-022544.htm.

Intel graphics drivers support:
The set of basic static display modes (at 60Hz and up to 32bpp colors) include 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200 and 1600x900.

The last one is a wide screen resolution.

Read more at the above link, what to do in case of problems.
