OK-I admit, I don't like this worth a flip. I like the last version better but if I can just change all this blackness so I can read it...where to change? It's actually lighter in the example than in reality on screen.

Are you using default skin?
Is it FF4 latest, or some beta?

Did you try Tools>options>content>Font {which tweeks more than the font}>advanced?

Might I also suggest, changing your OS gui? FF automatically uses the custom skin that I created for XP...here are some examples.

David, select the 'Default' theme. It's under tools>add-ons. You must have been using another theme. this is what my default looks like...

Would you happen to have Aero on with a dark Desktop Wallpaper.
Disable Aero on Windows 7 or Vista - How-To Geek
Vista: Enable or Disable Aero Glass Transparency Effect | Microsoft Vista | Tech-Recipes
Turn off Aero effects in Windows Vista Video – 5min.com

I did on Win 7 when I installed Firefox 4, and the Toolbar was dark because of my Wallpaper.
I had to do some adjustment to make it look right.

Broni, it's the 4.0 version. They told me I had the latest version? I didn't see a "Default, Fran but under "Personas" There's one called "Firefox B" that looks a heck of a lot better and definitely more readable. Unfortunately at work, they won't let me access the forum for some reason as it comes up Access Denied....rather stupid I think so, I had to wait till I got home to see the suggestions. I dont really care for the large fox at the upper right but it's better than before.

Yeah, if you have Personas, you just have to play with different skins to see which one goes fine with your fonts.

Actually, you do not need to use 'Personas.' If you click on 'Tools>add-ons>appearance,' a screen comes up, showing the themes you had before--most of them will be incompatible. At the top, mine shows the default theme which may need to be enabled. That FF Persona you're using doesn't look bad!

The problem with that, Fran, is it takes me back to the one I had before I didn't like. It won't take me back to the one I had prior to the update but, I can live with the current one ok...much easier on the eyes. I like yours better but don't appear I can get it.

Isn't the default theme showing on the list? Hopefully, new themes will become available soon.

I use Personas myself and with literally hundreds of choices, you'll always find some, which will fit your eye.

The problem is when you go into Tools>Add-ons the default says Disabled. When I enable it, it takes me back to the old grey/black theme I had before with FF4.0 at the beginning as I showed in the example.

Yep, I've already been through that. Things look a little smaller than they use to and I haven't changed a thing.

I just don't understand why the default is unavailable for you. I'm sure you will be able to find personas that will do the job.
