Hello

I wish to put up a custom currency symbol in place of current $ sign in Win Xp- Control panel- Regional settings- how do I do that? I have the necessary font (used to create the custom symbol) installed in my system. Pls guide. Thanks.

It seems to me it can't be done without something from Microsoft, a patch for the Operating System. Some pages to read:

It's not mentioned in the question but you will be required to have Service Pack 3 installed.

Custom regional settings in XP usually should be disabled\removed due to EXTREME CPU useage.
If you don't need it then disabled\removed...

Otherwise:
M.S. Support

modify the regional settings of some data types...

Thank you for your help friends but none of the articles you had pointed above helps me to achieve the feat I want to -i,e replace the dollar sign with the new INR rupee sign in Win XP control panel - Regional Settings.

Can you come up with some other solution pls?

After some thought I need to ask which version of WinXP you have, HE/Home Edition or Professional or MCE/Media Center Edition? It's possible you'll need the Pro version to get more languages support.
