I belong to a Photography forum that every couple of months a bunch of 'new users' will register, never posting. Usually with a new user I can see their profile, but these I can not. I am an old-timer there it is a small site with few long time posters. Why does this happen? What purpose?
My link12 out of 26 logins are new.

On every forum, you'll have some people, who will register and they'll never post anything.

I know this topic my be old but I checked out your forum and noticed under The Lounge you have a Private Buy/Sell/Wanted Equipment forum. I would suggest making this forum open and only viewable to public/guests, but only registered or qualified user's may post. Opening this forum to be visible by public will cut down on your inactive user count. Hope this helps you out!
