At C:\WINDOWS>fixmbr.....it says.
**Caution**
This computer appears to have a non-standard or invalid master boot record.
FIXMBR may damage your partition tables if you proceed.
This could cause all the partitions on the current hard disk to become inaccessible.
If you are not having problems accessing your drive, do not continue.
Are you sure you want to write a new MBR?

I said yes to everything it ask..............it is FIXED. Just waiting on Laurie to give me password to make sure I can it to desktop, but so far so good...... :my_master: :dancin_banana:

Peggy, your friend owes you a dinner at the very least. You two have worked overtime on this one!

Peggy
Good news :)

Couple of comments...

1. Because this is Dell computer, by resetting MBR, we destroyed original Dell's MBR, which grants an access to Dell's recovery partition.
That MBR was most likely infected, or messed up in some other way, so we had no other choice.
Dell's MBR can be rebuild, or if your friend has original recovery CD, we can leave it alone.
Let me know.

2. I noticed some infection on that computer, when we ran original OTLPE scan.
Also, messed up MBR can be a result of some infection as well.
I's very strongly suggest, we run some malware scans, or that computer may get messed up again
Let me know.

3. She's running two AV programs, Avast and TrendMicro.
One of them has to go.

Fran....this one was a rough one. Glad it's over. :oh_my_god:

Broni..#1.Yes, she has recovery CD.
#2.I ran Avast & SuperAntiSpyware, neither found anything.
#3.I noticed that also, but I don't think TrendMicro is actively doing anything.

She came over so quick to pick it up because of her inventory I didn't have time to do
what I wanted to do. She is one hyper lady... :scared:
With all this said, I'll cross my fingers that it stays okay until after I move at the end of the month then I want have to worry about it..... :angel_to_devil:

But thank you very much for helping me. I owe you.... :PoohBear1:
