The Comcast guys were just here. They found that squirrels had been getting even with Sweet Prince! Also, several other tech guys had done their jobs poorly and they corrected the problems. I noticed an increase in speed immediately. How does this look?

Funny thing--I didn't even notice it slowing down, but I sure notice how much faster it is now. This tech noticed several things other guys had neglected doing and he spent the time to correct the problems. He removed a connection box from the side of the house that was an old model they hadn't used in years. And he even went under the desk to update some wiring. He was late, so we got a $20 credit. He took so much time here that I'm sure he was late for the rest of his appointments. I think we got lucky with this guy--most do the least they can get by with. I'm sure the guy who was here a month ago ignored the squirrel-gnawed wire to save time. I hope we won't need attention for a while!

Sounds like you really lucked out......hope mine goes better when we move. To me mine seems fast after having dial up for so many years, but daughter assures me that it will be faster on cable. We'll see soon.

This is what I have now since we moved. It's not all that great to me....my DSL was faster. I don't find that pages load very fast at all.

To me upload is more important than download speed, I'd rather not sit forever emailing a large file or uploading a video to youtube.. Most sites cap your download speed anyway.. When a site is busy, it's busy , an example would be youtube, many times you can buffer no matter how fast your connection is. I can live with my download speed, my upload sucks.

Come to find out there is something wrong with the way they set up my internet service, they are coming back out here to correct things.....it should be 18Mbs.
