Is there a graphics expert in the house? Or someone who knows how my graphics and monitors should be set up? I am supposed to have one monitor and Intel Graphics 2 for Mobile. I did a factory reset and then started updating everything as fast as I could. After downloading driver updates from Intel and Lenova, my whole graphics/display system went haywire. I would get little tiny screens sometimes on bootup, when I try to adjust display properties, I get error message saying current settings aren't possible, something about VGA being started in a different mode and it would give me the blue screen and shut down all of a sudden. I think it's something simple like the wrong driver attached to the monitor or something. I'm trying to learn how to do things on my own, but sometimes I just mess everything up. Please help me before I render my Thinkpad competely inoperable! Thank you.

You should always install chipset driver first.
Do you have any errors in Device Manager?

Sometimes when I try to update or reinstall drivers when I'm trying to get the graphics system to function correctly. For a while, every time I booted, it would be a different desktop. Sometimes big, sometimes small. Now it seems more stable because it hasn't done that for a while, but when I go to desktop properties and try to change the settings, I get the error messages. An the default monitor says it doesn't need or have a driver. I guess because it's the IBM default VGA or something.

Monitors are usually plug-and-play devices, so they don't need any extra drivers.

You need to tell me what exact devices are listed with errors.

I tried to see which devices were listed as quetion marks in the device manager, but it started installing too fast. Now I have 3 default monitors and 2 IBM Thinkpad monitors in device manager. I have the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 for Mobile icon in the tray, but it's not in the control panel like it should be and when I right-click, it just shows the name, not any options. The desktop settings show 2 monitors: one thinkpad and one default (vgasave). The Graphics 2 for Mobile soesn't show up in the advanced settings like it used to. I think one time the unidentified device was the thinkpad pm driver.

Uninstall all monitors and all display adapters.
Restart computer and they should reinstall themselves.
If something is still missing let me know what is missing.
