I have the Golden Video VHS to DVD Converter software, and I also have the recommended EasyCAP DC60 - USB 2.0 Audio/video Creator Capture High-quality Analog Video. Using EasyCap I have connected the PC to a couple of different VCRs to test if the video output would be detected. Although the audio is detected, the video ouput for whatever reason is not being detected even though all the wires are connected as they should be. Any suggestions for how to fix it so that the video output is detected?

It may be important to know how you are making the connection. I have a VCP/Video Cassette Player [plays only] that I attach to a VCR/Video Cassette Recorder and for proper operation it requires 3 cables, color coded for the sockets they plug into.

Photographs of how connections look on back of computer and vcr would probably help members on what might have gone wrong on connections. We have no idea if you are using HDMI, Analog jacks, S-video, etc........

A Link to the software you are using and some screenshots of it in action would not hurt either.

I thought these VHS to DVD recorders were stand alone units separate from a computer. I have a bedroom dresser full of vhs tapes and a vhs player still. So curious on how you are going about this without using a vhs player as a input device to the computer (with a card to accept this) and how output from the same card looks going to DVD recorder.

Or am I off base and it just graps video from vhs as a file and converts it to a .avi or .vob file on Hardrive.

What I use the most now is a combination DVD Recorder and VCR [VHS tapes] attached to my TV, have moved all my non-copy-protected tapes to DVD. Once in awhile I'll use the VCP for transfer as it has a manual tracking adjustment control on it.
