The Best Wireless AIO Printers

Your computer is wireless--why not your printer, too? We give you our picks for the best wireless AIO printers.
Posted Image
The advantages of a wireless printer are many. No messy and unsightly cords. More versatility in where you place the device. Many wireless printers and all-in-one (AIO) printers or MFPs (multifunction printers) can operate PC free and support Web apps and other online services. Most let you print directly to them (and some let you initiate scans) from your mobile devices.
The perception that Wi-Fi printers may take a hit in speed has held some people back from getting one. Although that’s occasionally the case—a lot depends on the specifics of your Wi-Fi versus wired networks—any time lost in data transfer is usually minimal compared with the total printing time. If you want to play it safe, you can cover all bases by picking a Wi-Fi printer that also has an Ethernet port.
Here are an even dozen of our favorite wireless multifunction printers (MFPs):
In the realm of business-centered MFPs, the Brother MFC-J6710DW offers tabloid-sized printing (11 by 17 inches), while the Brother MFC-9970DW, a color laser MFP, offers speed and great text quality. The HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw features a large touch-screen LCD. The Lexmark Genesis 816 offers wicked-fast scanning and a striking, upright design to appeal to style-conscious small offices. The Epson WorkForce 635 and WorkForce 840 provide a good feature set and ample paper capacity for micro or home offices.
Many inkjet MFPs combine features for home (good photo printing, for one) and business use. The Canon Pixma MX882 combines a good mix of home and office features, including an LCD with buttons that change depending on what functions you’re using. The Epson Stylus NX625 provides high speed for printing business applications and solid output quality across the board. The Kodak ESP Office 2170 All-in-One Printer and Kodak ESP C310 All-in-One Printer claim a very low ink cost among their attributes.
The HP PhotoSmart eStation is an innovative family PC that’s controlled by a tablet-like device.
Whatever your wireless printing needs, whether you’re shopping for an MFP for a mid-sized company, a model that can serve both as a home and home-office printer, or one solely for home use, there are good choices available. The ones featured here have at least a 4-star rating, and we’ve many of them Editors’ Choice status as well.

My squawk is every one of those printers is a "All in one" printer. I have a disdain for all in one products. One thing goes wrong and the whole thing is E waste. As some of us are into Photography the last thing I want is a fax or scanner. I have a separate Epson scanner that is off and only in use when needed. What I want is a quality photo printer and it seems Epson is one of the few companies left that puts them out. HP which used to put out some great photosmart stand alone printers is now the pits and went along with the rest of the mindless companies. Canon has a couple and I bought one awhile back awaiting my 2003 HP photosmart 8150 to go out, and it is still ticking and putting out quality prints. It has a 4800dpi resolution and most of my prints look life like.
For those looking for just a photo printer I recommend the following:
Epson Stylus R2000 $349.00
Epson Stylus R2880 $500.00
Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MkII Photo Printer $483.00
Canon Pixma iP100 Photo Printer $240.00

I have a Canon Pixma MX 700 all in one and I have had it for 3 years with no problems. I have never used it's wireless function but I am going to start using it. I paid 200 and something for it new if I can remember right.

The good: Fast print and copy speeds; great print and scan quality; ADF; two paper sources; preview LCD; memory card slots and PictBridge port.

The bad: Scan speeds are just OK; lacks advanced fax features; PictBridge port can't be used for USB flash or HDD devices; no duplexer.
The bottom line: The Canon Pixma MX700 is a great choice for small offices with a wide variety of print tasks. This inkjet multifunction beats out the competition with a winning combination of features and performance.

Review: The Canon Pixma MX700 is a double threat of a multifunction inkjet, combining high-quality output with fast task speeds. Though it lacks some options that would make it even more compelling as an office workhorse--advanced fax features and a duplexer, to name two--when compared to other $200 office-oriented inkjet multifunctions such as the Lexmark X9350, it comes out on top with the best combination of features and performance. It even improves on Canon's last-generation office multifunction, the Canon Pixma MP530, by adding an LCD, networking, and media card slots. Due to the somewhat limited fax functions and task speeds, ... See All

"Perhaps a good choice, but not if you have had a Canon in the past..." on October 8, 2007 by bsandnes (1 review)

Pros: Clean design, solid physical build, logical interface, amazing network scanning integration
Cons: Where is the duplex??? Bottom tray has B5 minimum (no 4x6 or envelope), abrassive noise while printing,

Summary: Perhaps a good choice, but not if you have had a Canon in the past. By this, I am referring to the standard features and quality that you might be accustomed to. For instance, I "upgraded" from a Canon ip4000 to this unit. This is the first AIO or printer ... 3.5 stars
