has anyone tried placing an ad code between the header and navigation bars?
thought maybe if I could place it there I could get rid of the top header index one.

tried placing ad code near the logo area of ipb_styles.css but did not work.

think I got it.

search for:

Quote

</div>
</div>

<!-- ::: APPLICATION TABS ::: -->

and paste ad code before that.

creates kind of an odd horizontal offset from logo I can't get my finger on.
think its something wit the google code itself needing a border or something.
w/o the ad the logo touches top bar and bottom bar, ad code causes the whole BG to expand a bit. both ad code height and the bg height are 60.

I'd comment but you removed the add so I can't see the code.

yeah I'm going to setup against my test board, need to add another adsense target as I can't run same ads from 2 sites.
figured messing up test board is safer route :)
took me hour to figure out why ads were not working at all on test site LOL

not sure why but test site isn't grabbing ads so I re-enabled it on main one.
I feel there is some small clarifier I am over looking but I can't seem to find it.

edit: I also noticed this tops the ipblog logo when viewing blog page so may be related to something there.

huh. redpro skin>? I verified guests see it.

I did move stuff from remote server to all from one so MAY need hard refresh.
wanted to make sure any css change was immediately shown.

ok thats odd above.....

I am wondering if maybe I need to create a css class for ad placement there and then call it with a div tag using relative positioning but I think any div tag in that area would waways place it below logo.

adblock was why I wasn't seeing it on my test board. I keep forgetting how well that works LOL

see how messy that looks? trying to use the real estate up in that area for the stuff and not use normal method which adds to height of board as a whole. getting ads there and some other stuff into header bar works well for me.

There is some setting within Google add itself.
Will investigate more later.

Do you have Google ad code?

I'm not very familiar with Google ads, so how do you actually place them on your board?

just paste that, in the actual ad section on ad options I forget exactly where it places it but it just expands space between the nav bar and forum top and inserts.
I did not think to check whether it uses a distinct css class there though.
