When members register on our forum they must include, among other things, their phone number and birth date. I have set up the settings so that these two fields are required, but hidden from the public.
However, each member can see their own ph. # and bday listed on their profile page and, understandably, assume that everyone else can see it too.

Most people freak out and we are constantly getting emails or PMs begging us to remove their phone number from public view. This is of special concern for them because it is a student forum for teens, not adults. So we get contact from a lot of anxious parents as well. We always explain the fact that only THEY can see it... no one else can. But this is becoming quite the inconvenience for us and is consistently causing great concern on the part of new members.

Is there ANY way at all that we can make the field: Required, Hidden from the public, and ALSO Hidden from the account holder who is logged in? (I noticed that you can select to make the field visible only to Admins, but if you do that then the field does not show up during registration and they are not required to enter anything.)
What's odd is that other fields -- such as their street address, city, state -- are required, but do NOT show up on the profile page from the perspective of the signed-in member. (unlike the ph. #).
Your help is appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately I have no idea how it could be done.
