Hi guys sorry if this topic has already been posted before.
I have a problem that I can no longer find my external hard drive when it is connected to my laptop. It is a freecom 320gb hard drive and it is brand new.
The problem started when I formatted it via my sony bravia television (which is necessary to register it to the tv) so that I could use it for recording television programmes. I am now unable to see it whenever it is connected to a pc.
Is this fixable or is the hardrive completely messed up because I registered it with the tv?
(I have since de-registered it in an attempt to try and fix the problem)
Thanks in advance.

It's very possible the TV formatting uses a proprietary format that can't be 'seen' by the computer. Only thing I can see to get it working with the computer is deleting the partition and create a new one followed by formatting. It can be done in Computer Management, Disk Management section.

I had this problem with my W.D. external 'my book'.
It came formatted in the raw format, and my p.c. could not read it...
