I have been trying to free my box of this awful virus for three days. I thought I had gotten rid of it by installing AVG Internet Security, it found it and supposedly deleted it. Then I reboot and it found something else and cleaned that... but when I tried to run the unhide.exe the virus came back. Now AVG doesnt see it but its icon is sitting down on my status bar and I cant get the unhide.exe to work... I am at my whits end and ready to give up- please help

can I do all the things you have listed in safe mode as although I am on the internet I am unable to browse outside.

hi there,
Ok I managed to run the first program by moving the required file through the network from another machine. I ran it and it found a ton of stuff and I deleted that as you said and saved the log. When I restarted the box stuff reapeared which gave me hope lol and I was also able to get out onto the internet from that machine which makes downloading the required files a lot easyer. I then did the second thing and ran the scan GMER, it runs fine but doesnt give me a log... I am running it again now (third time) and hoping that it will this time. I turned off the firewall and shut down the internet just like you said so Im hoping its not something I am doing wrong.

ok it just finished said it couldnt find any system malfunctions which is good I hope lol and still no log... just blank. Should I go on to the next part?
