Hi guys i need some

guidance

on what i can do to get this pc working for my ex. When you start it up the lights on the keyboard does not come on. The mouse will not work also. So it just does not boot into anything. It has windows 7 Home Premium. I took it home and hooked another mouse and keyboard. Still does nothing. So far i aired it out and tryed differant usb ports for it. Still not working. Its not a wireless keyboard or mouse but i do have one to try if that would help any. Not sure what else to try. When you start it up nothing beeps but it does come on. Down by the memory there is a green light thats always on. When its power on. Another thing i did was take out the battery and put it back in.

First: I'd try plugging a USB Keyboard and Mouse in after Windows has booted. That's the nice thing about USB keyboard/mouse - you can plug them in after Windows is up and they will be recognized.
Second: If you can go into safe mode. Then go into device manager and delete your mouse and keyboard. Then re-start your computer into regular mode and let it re-add them. See if this works.

Another thing you can try is while you are in safe mode you can try and go back to a prior date, restore point, if you have that set up.

If you have more than one RAM stick installed try starting the computer with one RAM stick at a time.

  • There was 3 sticks of ram. I took 2 of them out. Then i started it up. I got one short beep then one long beep. So now i need the codes for this to see what the problem may be.

I can't see 1 short, 1 long in any type of BIOS.

When you boot do you see any initial screen or there is totally nothing?

Try another RAM stick.

Hey Broni I tryed each stick of ram in the memory slots. And i get one bad stick of ram. The bad stick i tryed in each slot with the same results. One short beep and one long one. The others are ok. But im not hearing the lone beep at start up. One time i did but that was it. Their seated ok and i sprayed some air on them(cleaned the ram slots out). Right now im going to hook it up to the keyboard and mouse to see if anything happens.
